FROM THE FAITH FORMATION OFFICES CONCERNING
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION REGISTRATION
New Registration for Religious Education Classes for the 2023-2024 school term is now taking place. Now more than ever our children need to be catechized and become stewards of our Catholic Faith. Faith Formation is a life-long journey in which its foundation begins with the teachings of Jesus Christ, the celebration of the Sacraments, family involvement and community. With this in mind, we urge all parents to register their children for Religious Education as soon as possible at both of our worship sites.
Registration must be completed by the 1st week of September so that books and materials can be ordered on time for the start of classes the weekend of September 16th/17th. All baptized students entering Grade 1 and Grade 7, in September, should be registered in order to receive their sacraments at the proper time. If your child will be 4 or 5 years old this year, we have a wonderful “Little Catholics” program just for them. All older students should also be registered so that they may receive a formal faith formation.
While there are different registration processes, both worship sites have added their information below, please note that all first time registrants are asked to submit the child’s Baptismal Certificate, Birth Certificate and registration fee.
To register for classes at either of the Holy Family or St. Laurence worship sites, please visit our parish website at www.holyfamilystlaurence-brooklyn.org or you may visit either worship site's rectory office any day during office hours to pick up or drop off completed registration form with fees.
The Religious Education offices do not have a set time schedule during the summer months.

Class times:
Sundays from 9:30am to 11:00am. All students attend the 11:15am Mass and are dismissed at the end of Mass.

**RELIGIOUS EDUCATION PROGRAM NEEDS TEACHERS (CATECHISTS)**
Are you looking for a way to share your faith, time and talents with others? We are blessed with a large number of children in our Religious Education programs. Volunteers are needed as Catechists (teachers), catechist aides, sacramental preparation, and safety monitors. You DO NOT have to have a child in our program to volunteer. One of the most important things we can do is help bring the little ones to faith in Jesus Christ. We encourage you to prayerfully consider if this ministry is right for you! All volunteers are background checked and cleared through the Diocesan Safe Environment Office. We will provide training and support along the way. If interested, please contact your worship site's Director of Religious Education.
